BLOCK OF THE MONTH: SEPTEMBER

BLOCK OF THE MONTH: SEPTEMBER

PINWHEEL

QUILT BLOCK OF TH MONTH #9: PINWHEEL

The block of the month for September 2020 is the pinwheel. This is one of my favorite blocks for so many reasons. It looks like a really difficult block to make and yet it’s fairy easy. I say fairly easy, because getting the points to line up in the center can be a bit tricky, but with a little bit of practice and nesting your seams together, the block comes together very nicely. I have made many quilts with pinwheels and I never get tired of them. Pinwheels are fun to make and they look great on the front of the quilt as a main design choice, border choice or even on the back of the quilt if you trying to use up scraps. See my video here where I used pinwheels on the back of my Sawtooth Star Quilt: https://youtu.be/a5o2uSXyJqY

CUTTING: Cut 2 pieces of fabric right sides facing each other at 14.5″ X 14.5″

This will give you 2 – 13″ X 13″ finished blocks.
