Easy DIY Witch Hat Tutorial – Fun Quilted Halloween Sewing Project

🎃 Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year to get creative! In this tutorial, I’m sharing how to make an easy and fun DIY Witch Hat that’s perfect for decorating, dressing up, or just adding a little spooky charm to your sewing space. Whether you decide to quilt it or piece it together from your favorite scraps, this project is simple, customizable, and so much fun!
🧙♀️ What You’ll Need
- 1 yard of fabric for the brim
- 1 yard of fabric for the cone
- Pellon 950 Shirtailor Fusible Stabilizer – gives the hat great structure (available in my Amazon store)
- Witch Hat Pattern from Hometown Quilt Company
- Thread, scissors, and your sewing machine or long-arm quilting machine
🪡 How to Make the Witch Hat
This project is a great weekend sew-along or last-minute Halloween craft! Here’s a quick overview:
- Cut your fabrics according to the pattern instructions from Hometown Quilt Company.
- Fuse the Pellon 950 Shirtailor Stabilizer to your fabric pieces for structure.
- Sew the cone section first, then attach it to the brim.
- If you’re quilting your witch hat, this is the perfect time to add a spooky or whimsical stitch pattern!
- Finish by pressing your seams and shaping your hat into a fun, pointy masterpiece.
