Here’s the quick system I use so my patterns stay organized long-term (not just for one glorious day):

Sort first: quilts, bags, apparel, seasonal, gifts, and “try soon.”
Use categories that match how you sew: If you mostly make quilts, organize by quilt style (traditional, modern, scrap, jelly roll, etc.).
Keep active projects separate: I keep a “currently making” section so nothing gets lost mid-project.
