BRIDAL SASH/SIGN

July 19, 2018 By The Crafty Author

BRIDAL SASH/SIGN

DIY WEDDING & BRIDAL SHOWER

BRIDAL SASH/ SIGN

BRIDAL SASH

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

*White fabric – 3/4 yard

*Lace – 2 yards

*Sewing Machine

*Thread – I recommend cotton thread

*Cricut or Cutting Machine

*Foil HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl)

*Heat press or Iron

*Scissors

*Weeding tool for HTV

HOW TO MAKE:

Cut 2 pieces of fabric.  I cut each piece 5 inches wide.  You will need to measure your length against your body to get the correct length of your sash.  Once you have your pieces cut, take your lace and sew it on each side of your panels that you cut.  Place the 2 sides, right sides together and sew at angle at the top and at the bottom to create your sash.

Using your cricut, find a font that you like and cut out the word Bride using HTV Vinyl.  Weed the vinyl and then use your iron or heat press to press the vinyl onto your sash.  You will need to follow the instructions in the vinyl to adhere to the correct fabric that you are using.  Heat settings will vary based on fabric.  I recommend using cotton.

DIY TABLE NUMBERS

DIY TABLE NUMBERS

WEDDING

DIY TABLE NUMBERS

There are many ways to create table numbers for an upcoming wedding or event.  I have completed these for my daughter’s upcoming wedding and I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out.  Be sure to click the links to be taken to the appropriate page to purchase.  Also, please note that I am a Cricut and Amazon Affiliate, and if you purchase through my links, I do make a small commission.  Thank you for your support!

I used the font, Elizabeth and typed the numbers in Cricut Design Space.  I then used Cricut Adhesive Foil in Silver.  I loaded my mat, following the cutting instructions via Design Space and my Cricut machine.  Once done cutting, I weeded the foil off of the mat, exposing my cut.  I then used Contact Paper to transfer the image onto my log piece.  I placed the image on the log, gave it a good rub and then removed the contact paper.  Once done, I put a layer of ModPodge over the foil on the log to seal it and to keep it from peeling off.  You can use either the matte or glossy ModPodge, depending on what your desired look is.   I let mine dry for a minimum of 24 hours.

I used my Cricut Maker to cut the Adhesive Foil and purchased the log pieces at my local Hobby Lobby store.

Supplies Needed:

Cricut Machine

Cricut Mat

Cricut Tools

Cricut Adhesive Foil

Photo Stand

Log Pieces

Mod Podge

USING THE NEW CRICUT EASY PRESS MAT & EASY PRESS

CRICUT EASY PRESS IRON-ON DESIGNS

In this video, I show you how to use the Easy Press with the new Easy Press Mat and Cricut Iron-On Designs.  You will not need a Cricut machine for this project.  You can also use a regular iron, however, you will need to work with it to figure out the heat settings and also how much pressure you need to apply.  I have included all purchase links to the supplies down below, with the exception of the onesies.  I did purchase those at Walmart for around $3 each.  I hope you find this tutorial helpful and I thank you for all of your support!

BRIDAL SHOWER CHALKBOARD SIGN

BRIDAL SHOWER CHALKBOARD SIGN

CRICUT TUTORIAL

BRIDAL SHOWER CHALKBOARD SIGN

Are you a bride looking to make your own decorations for your upcoming wedding?  It’s not as tough as you might think and you’ll save yourself a bit of money doing some of the decorations yourself.  One of the most popular decoration ideas floating around on social media and platforms like Pinterest are the Chalkboard signs using vinyl.

I made this beautiful chalkboard sign for a bridal shower for my daughter’s best friend.  However, you can use them to make any sign, not just for a wedding.  I will be making more of these as my own daughter’s wedding approaches.  I will be using them as table decorations to welcome guests to the wedding and reception.  These signs are so versatile, I absolutely love them.

What if you make a mistake?  No worries.  The vinyl can be pulled up so that making a mistake can be removed easily; making each sign reusable for whatever need you may have.

Below is a quick and easy tutorial that I have put together to get you started on your own personalized project.

MICKEY MOUSE EASTER BASKET

March 26, 2018 By The Crafty Author

MICKEY MOUSE EASTER BASKET

DO IT YOURSELF (DIY)

In this post, I will be sharing how to make your own Mickey Mouse Easter Basket.  Over the weekend, I sat down and made this cute little basket for my Grandson.  As I promised prior, I would not only be sharing my writing journey with all of you, but also my crafting journey as well.  I hope this gives you some of your own ideas and if not, feel free to replicate it for the special kiddos in your life.

This is not my original idea, but when I saw it, I knew I had to try it.  I added a little extra to the basket to make it my own unique design.  The original idea came from Auntie Tay and you can check out her video right here:  Show Me Auntie Tay’s Video

SUPPLIES:

Posterboard- $1

Fabric for Bow Tie- $1.18 (I purchased an 1/8 of a yard)

Glue Gun- I already own one but they typically cost around $5

Easter Basket- $1

Buttons- $1

ASSEMBLY:

I used a Spaghetti O can to trace the ears and made a total 4.  I glued the ears on the basket, using one circle for the front and one on the back.  For Mickey’s buttons on his outfit, I glued two large buttons on the basket.  As for his bowtie, I took some Mickey Mouse fabric and created a bow tie.   I then filled the basket with toys and candy and we’re already for Easter!  I hope you give this cute and inexpensive craft a try.  If you do, please let me know, I’d love to see what variations you come up with.
